The Way

Performative Pilgrimages for Existential Sustainability

I’m pleased to announce the launch of my new project, The Way. On June 12 and 14, together with Kolbrún Dögg Kristjánsdóttir, I will lead The Way—a performative pilgrimage through the Vatnsmýrin wetland in Reykjavík. The walk begins and ends at the Nordic House and is open to people of all ages and physical abilities.

This Reykjavík walk marks the beginning of a larger series under Fagurferðir, a newly established platform for events and performances that combine art, nature, and philosophy. Future pilgrimages will take place in Kjós, Ásbyrgi, and Hallormsstaður. The final edition will be released as an audio walk for those unable to travel.

Participants in Reykjavík will follow a 2.5 km route along paved paths and light gravel, guided through simple tasks and reflections. The walk takes approximately 90 to 120 minutes. It is co-created with Kolbrún Dögg, who uses a wheelchair, and designed with accessibility in mind.

Group walks:

Thursday, June 12, 14:00–16:00
Saturday, June 14, 14:00–16:00
Light refreshments will be offered. The guided version is in Icelandic. English and Danish versions are available as self-led walks at fallegt.com/the-way.

To register, email fallegt@fallegt.com with your preferred date and number of participants.
Group bookings in English or Danish can be arranged.
