PhD Pilgrimage Complete

The final step of my PhD journey was the ancient doctoral promotion ceremony at Lund University on 23rd May 2025, conducted entirely in Latin with traditional robes, top hats, laurels, solemn rituals, and cannon salutes. The hat symbolizes power and freedom, and then you receive a ring, signifying your devotion to knowledge. It was a truly unforgettable experience, much like stepping into an immersive performance in a Harry Potter world. Even my name was transformed into Latin on the diploma, Steinunnam Knúts-Önnudóttir. I loved every moment.
